Description

This beautiful bowl is made from Sapele, an exotic species now grown on plantations, using a technique called “segmented turning,” The maker has glued together multiple pieces of wood cut on a band saw or table saw, then stacked and glued into rings to form a bowl blank. The blank is then mounted onto a lathe and turned to perfection. The turned bowl is finished with a penetrating oil finish to provide an attractive luster.
