Build a playground for Camp Pendleton kids? Construct cabinets for the San Diego Humane Society? Make a community table for a fire station or a bulletin board for a police station? Yes, those are the things we've done.
Recently, something cool happened when we partnered with Lumbercycle.
Lumbercycle's mission is to find new uses for urban lumber. To keep the CO2 sequestered, they will give wood away for worthy projects. That means for any of the projects we've done, Lumbercycle could have provided the wood we needed to make things. We plan on taking advantage of this offer going forward!
Free wood is really helpful for our outreach program. Along with our cohort of volunteer woodworkers, it's all we need to make a difference. However, it gets better. Lumbercycle is also willing to give outreach volunteers free wood for their efforts. Now THERE is a deal!
